Supporting Actor
Eric Blume and I discussed the male Supporting contenders and agreed that Kodi Smit-McPhee and Troy Kotsur are locked it, but it’s a real mess after that. Eric is more excited for the men from Belfast, but Jared Leto is unfortunately involved. We both bemoan the lack of love for Jason Isaacs in Mass.

Best Actor
Gabriel Mayora and I went over the fairly wrapped up Best Actor race. Despite agreeing on the top four spots, we couldn’t totally settle on who gets the last nomination. Nicolas Cage, Javier Bardem, and Simon Rex are all jockeying for position.

Best Makeup and Hairstyling
Glenn Dunks and I tried to wrap our heads around what exactly the Academy wants from this category. How much does hairstyling actually account for consideration? We both agree Dune is the frontrunner, but we disagree on who ends up in the fifth spot. I make a great Jared Leto joke, he likes No Time to Die.
